Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer works with designers, engineers, and manufacturing to provide support of overall product quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Work with operations and engineering to ensure a quality product is produced.
  • Implementation and ownership of the quality management system.
  • Use available information to determine specifications, inspection or testing procedures.
  • Record and interpret inspection or test data.  Write reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
  • Work with team to determine root cause(s), and address and document corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor data for adverse trends.
  • Produce quality and other reports.
  • Completes other jobs or duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Travel up to 10% to other facility sites as required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong math and geometry skills.
  • Understanding of the ‘7 quality tools.’
  • Experience with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Accurate and detail oriented, producing work in a timely manner without errors.
  • Successfully work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and a willingness to take on additional workload as needed.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Possesses qualities such as productivity, dependability, resourcefulness, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field
  • 5-7 years’ experience in the quality field preferred
  • SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience a plus.


EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
Works primarily from an office at our Waconia, MN or Norwood Young America, MN facilities. Travel to other company operations and job sites as needed. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, personal computer, printer, plotter, calculator and copy machine.
